On closer inspection, the Eachine E58 Mini is nothing more than a DJI Mavic Pro dummy or fake. The drone is much smaller than the actual Mavic, but the mini drone can also be folded.

The price of just over 60 euros is much cheaper than the original product. However, the real question here is: what can you expect from the Eachine E58? Is it as good as the Mavic Pro?

We have put the quadcopter under extensive drone testing. You can watch the full video review here:

Eachine E58 design and quality

The drone can be folded like the original and reopened if needed when you want to take off.

When folded, the drone is about the size of a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Then the drone is 12.5 cm long, 7.5 cm wide and only 5 cm high.

This greatly reduces the size of the Mavic Pro. When unfolded, the drone is much larger, but it can still be classified as a mini-drones. (27 × 19.5 × 5).

The drone weighs exactly 96g making it absolutely lightweight in the drone world. Due to the low takeoff weight, the drone does not need a license plate, for example, in the case of the Phantom 3 Pro.

The remote, like the Eachine itself, is comfortable to hold and valuable to the touch. The remote control must use 3 x 1.5 AA batteries.

Our Fly-More-Combo package includes 2 additional batteries, so the flight time is significantly increased.

One battery has a capacity of 500mAh and can be charged using any USB charging cable. In addition, batteries for the remote control must be purchased separately.

Replacement propellers are unfortunately not included, but can be purchased on Amazon for € 7.99.

Camera test

There are two different versions of the E58. 0.3 MP camera and another version with 2 MP, which costs only 5 euros more. The money is really well invested at the moment.

To be honest, I don’t understand why there are two versions, this is the only difference between the two models.

The 2MP variant can record 720P video. The frames are really good for the price and the picture is “relatively” stable.

Since the drone doesn’t have a gimbal, the footage is still a little shaky. The drone cannot compensate for this with stable flight, the films will always be a little wobbly.

On the other hand, for shots like selfies or taking pictures of a garden or your own home, the Mavic Clon is good for that.

To be completely honest, for the price you just can’t expect a hollywoord record.

Still, the photos are good and ample for entertainment use.

If you are looking to buy a drone for commercial use, you should take a closer look at the original, the Mavic Pro. If you’re looking for a high-end model, check out our Phantom 4 review for more details.

Eachine E58 Mavic clone flight test

Launching and landing your Eachine is quick and easy. By simply pressing a button in the app, the flight will begin and the aircraft will rise to a starting altitude of just under one meter – very convenient for beginners!

The drone is controlled by the JY UFO app, which is available for free in the IOS Store and on Android. The download is free and no registration is required (for example, at DJI).

We tested the E58 on our first flight when it was 100% calm, so the flight conditions were ideal.

The mini-copter is in the air and immediately implements what we give in the form of commands from the remote control – without delay.

Thanks to the built-in barometer, the drone can independently hover in the air at one point.

In light winds, the aircraft started to wobble a little, but you only notice this when we stop. Otherwise, the headwind is practically not felt.

After a while to get used to it, we felt safe with the mini quad.

Flight time at full load is about 8 minutes. If you do not fly at full throttle all the time, the flight time is 9 minutes.

The battery can be simply replaced immediately after the flight and the fun continues.

The aircraft speed can be adjusted at 3 different levels. The slowest mode is suitable for video recording as the camera is more relaxed and less jerky.

Headless Mode ensures that the drone always flies in the exact direction the remote is flying. It doesn’t matter if the E58’s nose is pointing to us – left, right, or forward.

This mode can make flying easier, especially for beginners.

360 ° flips can be triggered in the app by pressing a button. Forward, backward and sideward flips are supported.

Please note that there are no obstacles within a radius of at least 3 m with which the copter could fly in an emergency.

After flipping, the copter needs a short time to stabilize. Sometimes it blows half a meter.

However, this is not a problem when you consider the absence of obstacles in the immediate vicinity of the drone.

I had a lot of fun flipping through the E 58, great feature!

After testing a few drones for beginners, I really must say that the Eachine’s performance is very good for this price point.

I would even say that this mini quadcopter is my personal winner in flight performance tests.
This is mainly due to the very stable flight, which is a boon especially for inexperienced drone pilots.

Great plane for a very good price

The value for money of this model is absolutely excellent in our opinion and you get a very generous package. The perfect entry-level drone for every beginner.

The Eachine E58 quadcopter drone takes good selfie photos and can also produce some useful video recording in the 2MP version.

However, I can make a clear purchase recommendation for this mini drone. There are currently very cheap deals for this model on Amazon.

Of course, this is not suitable for professionals. If you’re looking for a drone with a good camera, then take a closer look at our tested model from Hubsan or DJI.

For the most demanding photographers or filmmakers we can recommend the Mavic Pro, Mavic Air or Phantom 4 (already at the top of the flagpole).

P.S.: Our test video will follow as soon as I find the time to edit it! 🙂
