|Overall rating 4.1 / 5|
One of the cheapest mini drones we’ve ever looked at is the Helifar H802.
Beginners will enjoy the quadcopter because it has extensive safety features and can perform various stunts at the touch of a button.
Some of you will probably think that in the drone market you can only buy junk for € 20-30, but that’s why the manufacturer offers a one-year warranty. So there is not much to be lost!
We really thought we shouldn’t expect too much at such a low price, but the Helifar H802 has pretty good technical data and can fly very reliably.
Size, weight and design
The design makes a more angular impression and is available in orange / black. Since the drone is often bought for children, each propeller has a protective ring. This means that crashes or collisions with objects are not a problem. In this case, the rotor blades cannot be damaged.
Dimensions 9.3 cm x 8 cm x 3 cm, weight 40.8 g. So the mini drone will fit comfortably in your pocket.
To be able to fly at dusk or in the dark, a small LED flashlight is attached to the front.
Overall, the construction looks very solid and, as we are used to mini quadcopters, the model remains intact despite collisions with objects like the Parrot Mambo or Parrot Airborne drones.
Camera, memory and FPV live image transmission
For a drone for 20-30 euros, you should not expect a camera with FPV transmission of live images. The model is primarily used as a gadget quadcopter and for beginners to get their first flight experience.
Battery, range and flight time
A flight battery with a total capacity of 330 mAh is installed. It operates at an operating voltage of 3.7 V.
Unfortunately, the flight time is maximum 7 minutes, if you really turn on the gas, the battery lasts only 4-5 minutes.
The maximum flight time clearly depends on your flying style.
Because the battery is so small, it can be fully charged in 45-50 minutes. Fortunately, it is interchangeable and you can choose whether you want to order the drone with one or two batteries.
Additional flight batteries are also not very expensive, so you can extend the flight time as you wish.
However, there is no battery included for the remote, you still need 3 AAA batteries.
The transmitter has a maximum range of 30 to 80 meters. We also found that this depends on many different factors and therefore can only be indicated very imprecisely. For example, if the batteries are nearly empty and there are objects between the transmitter and the drone, the maximum range will be significantly less than 80 meters.
The gyroscope system is used to stabilize the flight. The drone masters 360-degree tricks at the touch of a button, there are buttons on the remote control.
After a 3D flip, the mini drone returns to the automatic hover state and holds it.
Another interesting feature is the automatic take-off and landing system. It makes landing and taking off child’s play.
To slowly get used to controlling the quadcopter, the pilot has 3 levels of speed.
