Camcorders are becoming more and more popular, and in May 2018, the legal situation softened somewhat regarding the admission of recorded materials to court.
There are 2 different mounting methods for DVRs. They can be attached using an adhesive mount or a suction cup mount. The advantage of suction cups is that they are better suited for drivers who change their vehicle frequently, as the camera can be removed quickly and easily.
In order to clarify the course of an accident as best as possible, car cameras are especially useful. So we took a close look at the Mobius Maxi with 2.7K resolution and 150-degree field of view.
The camera is very handy, lightweight and compact. You can find out the rest here in our report.
Technical data and facts about the Mobius Maxi DVR
The Mobius Maxi car camera has a gravity sensor, saves and locks loop mode in case of emergencies. This means that as soon as the camera detects a collision or strong steering maneuver, this interruption begins.
In addition, the model can be used in many other ways. There is, for example, a burst photography, which creates a sequence of photographic images.
In our opinion, the picture quality is quite good for this price. However, if you want to record in 4K, you should look for another model and dig deeper in your pocket. However, as a rule, 2.7K is sufficient to clarify the course of an accident.
If you press the mode button twice in succession, audio recording is disabled and the camera continues to record.
Thanks to the 150 degree wide-angle lens, the blind spot remains small.
Videos can be recorded in various resolution formats. The 2.7K resolution at 30fps is ideal for particularly high image quality. If you want to save storage space, you can also set 1080P in the menu, and the camera will run at 60, 50 or 30 frames per second.
For an overview, we briefly introduce you to the possible resolution formats.
Here you can choose one of the following formats:
- 2.7K 30fps
- 1080P 60fps, 50fps or 30fps
- 720P at 120, 100, 60, or 30fps
Supported video formats: H.264 AVC, Mov and MP4.
You can also set different image resolutions. Choose simple from the menu: 2704 x 1524, 2048 x 1538, 1600 x 1200, 1920 x 1080, or 1280 x 960 pixels.
The design of the Mobius Maxi is quite flat and compact. Above the cam are various buttons for starting and controlling the model. To be able to transfer images from the DVR to another device, there is a USB input at the bottom. Next to it is the SD card slot, here you can insert a Micro SD card.
The corresponding cables and bracket are included in the scope of delivery.
The model uses a 950 mAh battery. You can record about 100 minutes of footage with it if you shoot in 1080P at 60fps. At 2.7K @ 30fps, the battery lasts even 140 minutes.
