An interesting and inexpensive quadcopter we reviewed is the S-SERIES S20W dual GPS with 6-axis gyroscope and adjustable camera with remote control.

This drone only costs around € 65 and offers everything a beginner needs to comfortably learn to fly a drone and gain experience.

Specifications

In the store, you can buy a drone with different functions, it is available in black, with different sets of batteries and two sets of cameras, while you need to choose one of two.

The drone is controlled by a 4-channel remote control, and the great thing about the camera is that you can adjust its angle with the remote control in a range of approximately 75 degrees.

There is also a smartphone app for this model, where you can, for example, draw with your finger a flight path that the drone will then take off.

If you are disoriented, you have the option to turn on headless mode or use the auto return function.

The aircraft enters fully automatic return-to-home mode even if the battery capacity drops below 5%. If it comes to that, the quadcopter will turn around and fly towards you.

Design

The design is very similar to the DJI Phantom series drones, which we also tested extensively.

As mentioned, in the store, you can choose between black and white, with the darker version looking more like anthracite.

The shoulders and propellers cannot be folded, but can be simply unscrewed. A moving camera with a 120 degree wide-angle lens is positioned between two landing curves.

LED signal lights round out the entire design and ensure that you can recognize and operate your quadcopter even at night.

camera

When buying a drone from a store, you have to choose between a model with a 2.0 megapixel or 5.0 megapixel camera. So either 720P or 1080P. Thus, the resolution format is 1280 × 720 or 1920 × 1080 pixels.

With the camera, you can shoot videos at a maximum rate of 25 frames per second. With the remote control it can be aligned up or down at a 75 degree angle. This feature is quite rare in drone models, but we think it’s great!

More properties and modes

Typically, you can fly the drone like any other quadcopter, up, down, forward, backward, left and right, and sideways on a plane.

You also have 3 different speed levels, auto return function, altitude hold mode, WiFi FPV and dynamic tracking mode.

You have several buttons in the middle of the remote for quick selection of individual modes and settings. The smartphone holder is located at the top.

Battery, range and flight time

Installed Lipo 3.7V 1000mAh battery. The maximum flight time is about 8 minutes and the charging time is about 60 minutes. In addition, the transmission range is about 500 meters, and the Wi-Fi image is only transmitted up to 400 meters.

Pros and cons

Privileges:

  • Very well controlled and ideal for beginners
  • Range 400 meters
  • Perfect image transmission over WiFi (up to 400 meters, no interference and no occlusion)
  • Videos are recorded at up to 25 frames per second.
