|Overall rating 3.8 / 5|
The Xiro Xplorer Mini drone is foldable, has selfie function, Follow Me mode and many other great features and is available for just under € 200.
This seems like a pretty attractive proposition, so we took a close look at the small quadcopter.
Technical data and features
We have a model that weighs about 430g and when unfolded it has the same dimensions as the Parrot Bebop 2.
The flight behavior is very different from this drone, but more on that later.
A 13-megapixel camera is installed, with which you can take excellent photos. The selfie function comes in handy here too. Videos can be recorded at 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second.
Like the Parrot Bebop drone, this is a fisheye lens with electronic image stabilization.
What worried us a lot was that there are no FPV goggles in the foldable quadcopter. This feature is recommended for the offered features.
However, the live FPV image is transmitted to the smartphone screen in real time. To do this, you need an appropriate application that you can quickly download and install in the store.
With a little practice, you can also create great recordings without transmitting a live FPV image, you just need to develop the feeling that the drone is at the right angle.
Below, we will quickly introduce you to the most important flight functions that a drone provides.
Snap tracking function
In this mode, you can mark an object or person using the surface of the application, then the quadcopter will track this and generate video recordings.
The Xiro Xplorer Mini drone flies completely independently and the pilot does not need to intervene.
There are some important technical features, such as the GPS system, which allows the flight model to be independently held in its position when no one is controlling the drone.
Pros and cons
The positive and negative aspects of the camera, of course, are also subjective feelings; the price of the drone should always be taken into account. We have collected the most important advantages and disadvantages for you in a small overview.

scope of delivery

- 1 x battery
- 1 power supply
- 4 x rotor guard
- 4 screws
- 1 micro USB cable
Flight performance and stability
Due to the fact that this model can be bought so cheaply, the flight position of the quadcopter is quite stable. Therefore, it is well suited for beginners who cannot or do not want to invest so much capital in the beginning.
How well the 4-screw flight model handles can be seen from the flight data and the drone design.
The Xiro Xplorer weighs 430g, which is ideal for beginners because the plane is not too bulky with that mass and does not react too much to control commands.
The manufacturer also took care of a long flight time, one battery charge can fly as much as 15 minutes.
To make the most of the battery power, the manufacturer sought the best aerodynamics for the flight system and installed efficient, large diameter propellers.
In addition, high-performance lithium-polymer batteries were selected, which have the ideal ratio of weight to maximum charge (Ah).
If the propellers of the model are particularly large, the engine must generate a lower speed in order to create the same thrust as with the smaller rotors (rotor diameter and aerodynamics).
As a result, the larger, slower-spinning propeller is much more efficient and has many advantages in terms of flight time and position.
The photos show that this refers to the Xiro Xplorer.
As mentioned, the maximum range is around 100 meters. As a rule, the drone can still be well recognized. The pattern of the cover or case is distinctive, if you want a different color, you can remove the cover and replace it.
Comparison of competing models in the same price range
The best way to compare Xiro Xplorer drone to Hubsan drone. This model also features several flight modes including Altitude Mode, Headless Mode, Follow Me Mode, and Home Mode.
The design of this model is also very elegant and perspective. It weighs 410 grams and is almost as heavy as the Xiro Xplorer.
In addition, the Hubsan H501S X4 Pro drone has GPS and a flight time of up to 20 minutes. The Hubsan drone is quite popular with newbies.
As mentioned, you get the Xplorer for a fraction of the price you have to pay for other models in this size category.
It is often bought for a first flight experience as its entry price is quite low and the model still has many of the features and benefits of an expensive drone.
Numerous features enhance flight quality and aerial photography. With this quadcopter, the manufacturer wanted to bring to market a comfortable, compact, remote controlled aircraft that is ideal for beginners and experienced users.
